Editorial Summary: TO hyaluronic acid: cheap, popular, mostly works if you apply on damp skin, but watch out for stickiness and pilling. Some get irritation or dryness, so patch test. Color can vary, but brand says it's normal. Overall, decent for the price but not a miracle worker.
Methodology: Synthesized insights from 100+ Reddit quotes across skincare-focused subreddits including SkincareAddiction, AsianBeauty, Sephora, and KoreanBeauty between April 2015 and June 2025, emphasizing user experiences and consensus on product performance, texture, and application tips.

The Ordinary hyaluronic acid
I personally love The Ordinary hyaluronic acid, but have started to use the Good Molecules one instead. Another one to add to your list to try!

Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5: Dupe for skinceuticals B5. Really tacky and doesn’t absorb half as well as skinceuticals. WNRP
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA – 3/10 Didn’t irritate my skin, but also didn’t do much. I prefer the Sunday Riley lactic acid serum by far.
I have been using products from The Ordinary and I know that many people swear by them but I've not found them to be particularly effective. I'm currently using: Morning: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B2 ... None of these products are doing much for my skin, and although it would be even drier were I doing nothing, my cheeks shouldn't be flaking after applying 3+ moisturizing products.
