Editorial Summary: A lightweight, no-frills hyaluronic acid serum that's super popular for good reason: it's gentle, fast-absorbing, and hydrates decently without fuss. But heads up, if you’re layering with actives or sunscreen it might sting or feel like it’s not doing much. Great bang for your buck though. If you want basic hydration that won’t irritate, it’s a solid pick; if you want heavy hydration or multi-step layering, maybe look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Lightweight and fast-absorbing serum
  • Hydrates and plumps skin effectively
  • Suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin
  • Affordable price and good value
  • Fragrance-free and gentle formula

Cons

  • May cause stinging or irritation with actives or sunscreen
  • Some users find it insufficiently hydrating
  • Feels watery or like a toner rather than a serum
  • Not ideal for hot climates or oily skin
  • Inconsistent results, some report dryness or bumps

Methodology: Analyzed 98 Reddit quotes from diverse skincare communities including AsianBeauty, KoreanBeauty, SkincareAddiction, and others, dated April 2015 to June 2025, synthesizing frequent user sentiments about effectiveness, texture, skin compatibility, and price.

Okay so this has become super popular lately, and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon, mainly because I love how pretty this product is, and how could you go wrong with some basic hyaluronic acid? Well, it's definitely the biggest disappointment, which makes me sad because I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into this serum no matter how hard I tried. First of all, when I started using all of these products, I found that when I would get to my step with actives/sunscreen, my face would burn and literally feel like it was on fire, so I was like what is going on!?! I slowly tested out each product at a time, and realized that whenever I used this serum with an active or spf, it would cause my face to burn. After some brief research, I found out it may have to do with the fact that this product is really good at allowing other products to be absorbed into the skin, which is great for when you're just adding moisture, but not so great for my sensitive, reactive skin. I now just use it on the nights where I solely focus on moisturizing, but even then it doesn't feel like it adds anything to my routine, and my skin is more plump and glowy in the morning after using the B-lab matcha ampoule than when I use this stuff. I think this would be really good for people who are just starting out, or want a really basic skincare routine, but for someone like me who loves multiple-steps and actives, it just doesn't fit well with my other products that I use often.
